See the stars up close at the Griffith Observatory and also along the Hollywood Walk of Fame on this combo tour from Anaheim. Stop by the TCL Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre, and snap pics of the Hollywood Sign. Get also an up-close view of the space shuttle 'Endeavour' at the California Science Center plus experience an incredible IMAX film.
Your full-day guided tour starts with a late morning pickup from your Anaheim Resort area hotel for a comfortable drive north to Los Angeles.
Your first stop will be at the California Science Center where you'll see the space shuttle Endeavour. Get right up in front of the space shuttle at its new permanent home and stand nose-to-nose with the SR-71 Blackbird. Walk under a million gallons of water in the Ocean Habitat, and see how tornadoes form. Then, use your included ticket to one of the amazing IMAX movies about the planet, outer space, or the space shuttle, its missions, and its final trip to Southern California (dependent on scheduling).
After 2.5 hours at this interactive museum, your guide will accompany you to the epicenter of Hollywood, the TCL Chinese Theatre (formerly Grauman's Chinese Theatre). Take about 40 minutes to explore the Hollywood Walk of Fame and check your handprints against those of celebrities past and present. Walk up the stairs of the Dolby Theatre, home to the Academy Awards, and browse a souvenir shop along world-famous Hollywood Boulevard.
Then it's dinner on your own at a California original — In-N-Out Burger, which opened in 1948 as California's first drive-thru burger stand (own expense).
Afterward, head up to Mt. Hollywood and the Griffith Observatory with an additional 2.5 hours to explore this Los Angeles landmark. Get an up-close look at the Hollywood Sign and admire unsurpassed views of Los Angeles and the California coastline.
Your time here is your own, so you can look through the telescope in the dome, see a working Tesla coil, explore the exhibits about space and time and, as an included bonus, gain admission to the Samuel Oschin Planetarium and its state-of-the-art theater. Sit back and marvel at the Zeiss Projector, one of only a couple in the entire world.
Upon departing the Griffith Observatory, ride through downtown LA and past many movie locations before returning to your hotel.
